Jimpeel - There was nothing wrong with what Martinman's posted. I was agreeing with him. You misinterpreted what I stated. "as per the findings, by Martinman, re: IBD editorial section." This means, I agreed with Martinmans post (his findings) that this was from the IBD editorial section and it was originally written by Merill Mathews and the article was submitted by exitramp; (I believe in violation of submitting editorials on gasbuddy) I may stand to be corrected. Findlaw! So what's that got to do with all the tea in china, or in this case posting an article in violation of the gasbuddy terms of use. If articles are being posted in contravention of the rules of gasbuddy, then the member that agreed to those rules by joining, is in contravention of that policy. Enjoy your lunch; If there is global warming, good chance America along with other parts of the world may become a dried out dustbowl. Little arrogant & egocentric with comments like America now produces 75% of the worlds food. Their are many others in the world producing edible food; not much rice comes from America. Russia, China, Australia, Parts of S. America, Canada produce large quantities of grain; other Nations supply the Rice; a worlds staple, like China, India and many others.

Some interesting facts to peruse here.
And we surely won't hear much about it as it's not on the Eco-imperialists best interest for these facts to come forth.
They would much rather salivate over doom, gloom, fear and paranoia.

CdnLynx,
I don't see a problem with Martinman's post. He merely hotlinks to the editorial. He does not violate the Fair Use Doctrine.
Perhaps you should take a gander at this page from http://www.findlaw.com on what constitutes fair use.
http://smallbusiness.findlaw.com/intellectual-property/fair-use-and-public-domain.html?DCMP=GOO-BUS_CopyrightBoardModifier-FairUse&HBX_PK=+fair++use++doctrine
In addition, The article was originally submitted by ExitRamp yesterday.

Here is a question to ask the global warming proponents when they start complaining about co2 and AGW.
Warmer temperatures and longer growing seasons mean more food for the world. The U.S. already feeds 3/4 of the world's population in some form or another. If you accomplish your goal of reversing AGW, and the result is cooler temperatures and shorter growing seasons, will you be willing to take responsibility for the millions of deaths from starvation due to the resultant shortage of food?
Bring a lunch. The answer will be so long and convoluted, as they attempt to defuse your question and justify their existence, you may not have time to hear it all.

Its my understanding the the posting of editorials was in violation of Gasbuddy policy of not posting editorials. as per the findings by Martinman, re: IBD editorial section.

TFowler513 I agree, carbon has been high for far to long and we really should not be adding to it. CO2 emissions dropping may not be perfect however it's better then continuing to climb. Its fare to say that once we realize things are too bad, then maybe it will be to late to change it. However we must try to limit the pollution if not end it. Natural gas is great for heating our homes, particularly in areas away from the equator and the tropics of Capricorn/Cancer. However the ever expanding use of fracking to squeeze even more natural gas out of existing wells, some marginal, should stop as the methane pollution produced and possible risk to potable ground water is too much of a risk. Use natural gas but don't frack for it. The polar regions of the world are melting at a increasing rate, there are reasons for it and its probably been due to the industry of the last hundred years or so, heating the planet. Just today a large part of the Greenland ice field broke away (twice the size of Manhattan) and now is a floating iceberg.
The following article is from 2008; still applicable for today. Would like to add, its not just the pollution of the ocean but pollution of the atmosphere; globally around the world, land, sea, and air.
Some can stick their heads in the hot sand, stating rhetoric that there is no problem. Yes, it nice to have gas to drive around, however its more important, that we all can live on this small planet, a planet, that sustains all of us, for now, as, our planet fly's around in the cold, black, abyss of space!

RE: why haven't temps dropped. . . Wonder how much all this asphalt paving on interstate highways is contributing to the heat. Black does draw heat, it appears that black tops would too.

Yes the rate of carbon emissions being released is decreasing but it is not enough. Carbon in the atmosphere is measured in parts per million. We are past the point where any decrease in emission is not enough to counter what we have already done. We are now at the point where we need to stop all emissions!!!

Well, first of all, this is not 'news'.
It IS misinformation coming from the largest members of the oil lobby 'public policy' foundations.
Did anyone else notice how the STORY totally neglects how closely the numbers mirror the declines in gasoline consumption, due to higher gas prices ?
I'm surprised the Texas troll hasn't been raving and drooling all over this piece of fantasy petro-journalism....

First of all, this is an IBD (Investor's Business Daily) STORY.
Second, it is an Op-Ed, from IBD EDITORIAL section. It is clearly stated right above the story title, not to mention is taken from IBD's EDITORIAL page.
Third, this story is written by Merrill Matthews, a staff writer for the Institute for Policy Innovation.
So, just "who" is the Institute for Policy Innovation...?
The Institute for Policy Innovation (IPI) is a think tank based in Lewisville, Texas and founded in 1987 by Congressman Dick Armey to "research, develop and promote innovative and non-partisan solutions to today's public policy problems."[1]
The conservative Capital Research Center ranked IPI as amongst the most conservative groups in the US, scoring it as an "eight" on a scale of one to eight. [2]
IPI has received funding from corporations like Exxon Mobil and organizations like the Kochs' Claude R. Lambe Foundation, Scaife Foundations, the Bradley Foundation, and others. (see "funding" section below).
-----
Let's see...
ExxonMobil...
the Koch brothers...
the Heritage Foundation...
Nope. No 'bias' there...

Lower CO2... in exchange for higher methane, ground water pollution, and earthquakes from disturbing the fault lines.... Is this a good trade?

Wasn't there another story this week that said the atmosphere would be adversely affected by using all that natural gas because of the damage to the atmosphere from methane? This article does not mention methane. Oh, wait! It's (this article) is from Investors.com.

Volcanoes, wild fires and so much more are normal disasters and contribute more than we know to "golabal warming," Carbon, air quality and Ozone problems.

This is the kind of environmental improvement we can all enjoy because of lower natural gas prices. But why let the truth get in the way of a good crisis? I suppose the sky is not falling after all.
Lost in all the noise and FUD is also the fact that the same companies that are using hydraulic fracturing to get the natural gas out of the ground are pumping CO2 into the empty wells, where it can remain stored forever, instead of released into the air where it can do more damage.
But don't let the truth get in the way of a good story, and go ahead and claim that the sky is falling and global warming is killing us just because the midwest and eastern states had a few weeks of hotter than normal weather. I suppose if those same states have a few weeks of colder than normal weather the same environmentalists will be claiming that we are experiencing global cooling??

Co2 may be falling because of the use of natural gas over coal but it is not because of fracking which causes more environmental damage than most other processes. Natural gas is readily available without using the fracking process and other methods may not be quite as fast but are much more environmentally friendly.
