Calif. Considering Public Watchdog for Troubled Nuke Plant

Inside Climate News -- Add this to the list of questions surrounding Southern California's troubled San Onofre nuclear plant: Should the state create an independent committee to watch over its operations and keep the public better informed?

It's an idea being pondered anew in the California attorney general's office as criticism mounts over dangerous equipment flaws at the twin-reactor facility. The problems will keep the plant shuttered at least through August—and could eventually force its permanent closure.

Seems like a mess that nobody wants to fix. Just study at taxpayer expense, and raise electricity rates for California's consumers.

California needs something... but doubt this is the real answer with all those who want to ban everything there. Sort of like the supreme court... you think you know where they stand and look what they did with Obamacare and the screwing of America.

Good idea to have someone checking up on these nuclear power plants. Let's avoid the problems experienced in recent history.

I got a great idea.

Let's build more nuclear power plants on fault lines. That should fix all the problems with California one day.

The public may not wanna really know how "shaky" literally! This plant is.

Obsolete. Outdated. One of these rust buckets will eventually take us the next step beyond 3 Mile island (TMI) disaster

Solar Pv, wind, hydro, wave, ocean current , there are many sustainable ways to skin the electric cat.
